vyair pumped 200RO
« on: April 17, 2012, 11:43:35 pm »
has anybody had an ro set up which was too slow producing pure water,    and changed to a Booster Pump to make it quicker,    does the pumped version make it much quicker, my 200 ro was too slow,  to fill a 25ltre drum would take 3 hours.   looking at the vyair 200 with fitted pump      do you think this would be better and quicker filling drums. my tap pressure must be low     a pump says   more pure quicker.    priced £200

Do you mean this one?

Its the one I have, yes it produces much quicker (my old R.O was unpumped) and at a much lower tds its a very good R.O.
you will not be dissapointed

a booster pump will help a little but your using a small domestic ro, if you can afford more get a better ro and your problem will be solved.

merlins are faster, but if your on a meter they waste a lot of water.

if money is tight just add a couple more to your system go up to 300/400 with a pump

My experience of merlins...yes they make volume but at the expense of tds.
I wouldnt buy one.

personally I use 4040's because I like the speed of production. I did buy a merlin to test one out, the tds is ok, just waste a lot, and to slow for me

Yes it seems 4040's are the way to go if you have enough space, space is an issue for me. I have my little vyair unit as above plumbed in under the kitchen sink with waste into washing machine waste pipe and a small hole drilled through the wall with the product tubing running out. it is however handy for not having to worry in freezing conditions.
