« on: April 15, 2012, 11:38:59 am »
Hi
Is anyone the owner of a Envirodri Gen 4 Counter Rotating Machine?
If so, are you satisfied that you made the right decision in purchasing one? Do you recommend?
Thanks in advance.
kind regards, Mark.

Haven't got one but have heard similar stories of panels breaking, I know Simon Gerard rates
the flexi-5, you can also vacuum with it.  ;D

I have had mine about 4 years now and mine falls to pieces frequently. Maybe once a year I have to send it back to Envirodri and they send me a free replacement while it gets repaired. According to the engineer at Envirodri they are not supposed to be used as a pre-spray agitator because the casing of the machine deteriorates with contact with certain chemicals.

I have to say though that the service is very good, they didnt even charge me for parts last time, although that was a few months ago and it is now falling to pieces again.

I would probably go for the Flexi-5 or the lighter TM4 next time.

From memory it's around 30kg.

The new ones won't be available until around July time.

I've had a Envirodri (Gen 4) for three years and use it on a regular basis for agitating prespray, also used it
with microsponges on a few occasions.

I rate the Gen4 as one of my best bits of equipment and wouldn't want to be without it.

Incidentally, I also have a sebo duo (rarely used) and a 13" Floormac OP that I use on stairs and in confined spaces.

Regards

Jim

Like Jim had mine approx 3 years, also had/have the sebo duo, floor mac, 17" rotary and the TM3. The envirodri is easily the best in my opinion, although the bodywork is a bit flimsy, had bits of plastic fall off but it still soldiers on and I wouldn't be without it.
In all honestly I wouldn't have bought new/full price prior to using one, bought mine nearly new approx half the cost of new, but would do now.

I thought it was supposed to be the dogs danglies and it does do a very very good job BUT the casing is suspect and the bloke I bought mine off had issues with the fact he had bought it new and the case kept cracking and Envirodri had to keep repairing it for him - I have just noticed that the case where it meets the small transport wheels is cracked and therefore they do have a problem because you really would not (and we didnt) throw them around as it is pretty heavy so it must be design or manufacturing deficiency

I would not buy a new one and probably would not buy another one second hand either - its not easy to clean as the rods that hold the brush rollers are bloody difficult to replace when you have cleaned it up - ours goes everywhere with a rubber mallet to get the bloody things back in place

I had one and it fell apart so many times i got tired of the hassle of sending it back and taking time off to wait for it to be returned, envirodri stated that " i was the only one to experience these problems"  :P

and that the machine did not have a design flaw they said that it should not fall apart because it is used  to agitate a prespray i purchased it with the full understanding that this was what i would use it for and they recognised the guarantee when it promptly fell apart, the replacement fell apart too. even the machine they sent for me to use while my machine was being repaired had a huge crack in it, and they still denied that the machine has an inherent problem, i was dismayed with this illogical attitude, they kept telling me that the machine was tested by dropping it onto a concrete floor from three feet and all these other tests, it seems that treating it as a valuable antique as i was doing by the end, damages it  ??? i did start to think it was me and that i was doing something wrong, so when the machine had a brand new case fitted, i sold it. I was aware that many were using it at the time who did not have these problems, so i could not rule out the possibilty it was me, envirodri claimed that one company they supplied had hundreds of them and none of them had ever cracked, mine was the only one, suggesting i was causing it. and that the machine was perfect when they returned it to me.
I replaced the machine with a Host reliant which although it is smaller is better on domestics and unlike the Envirodri the brushes can be changed in about ten seconds instead of the faffing about with those rods for ever bloody silly design to change the brushes, i never got the hang of it.

Same as James.....They have a design flaw.......and so fall to bits, which is a shame because they work really well. (Hairline cracks can be seen on new parts which develop and crack and fall off!) Host reliant next time.

That's what i always thought, when i looked closely at the first  new case it looked like it had tiny cracks across the frame, i think if this were the case "excuse the pun" then the fault is in the moulding  process my first machine cracked horizontally across the two holes where the rods go.

I've had a gen 3 for 9 years, it's metal and is as hard as nails, serviced twice in 9 years.

I have an early one that has a metal body.
There is only one problem-- It is virtually impossible to get it apart as there are steel screws going into aluminium.
But it is still going strong and I would not be without it.
God must love stupid people---He made so many.

I asked Envirodri if they had any metal ones, did not go down too well  :o
