Cleaning Packages
« on: April 13, 2012, 04:09:48 pm »
Hi

Does anyone offer or do cleaning packages? or does anyone think this  will work

Thinking more residential than commercial at the minute..

heres the idea...

All house carpets cleaned and protected... 4 weekly window cleaning

say the window cleaning added up to £195.00 per year ( @ £15 per clean 4 weekly)

and you cleaned and protected all the carpets for e.g £305.00.. at the time of signing up the customers for window cleaning ..

Total package cost £500..

Now thats a lot of money I know windows aren't paid in arrears...

But what if you offered this on 12monthly D/D payment .. which would be £41.66p..per month to the custy..

would it appeal??

i think there maybe some mileage in it as to pay for the carpets etc.. is a lot in one go although people do pay it .. but the option to spread it out may appeal...to those who wouldn't consider it cos of the one off payment costs..

Also the window cleaning is then nicely tied into the D/D payment so no hassle collecting chasing payment...

are am i barking mad for even thinking about it?? ???

could be a go'er

but of course you are reliant that the customer continues to pay per month and just does not cancel payments

tis about risk and reward....

your risk

customers reward  ;D

Paul,
Pure Hydro offers something like this but offers uvpc cleaning in one of the packages. I think it was gold silver or bronze with different monthly costs. The take up of it I cant comment on.
While on paper your plan looks good you may find it takes years to get to a level where you have enough reliable customers to make it work hassel free. I will try to explain.
Your data base of carpet customers may have window cleaners already. How many do you think or expect to change? Most will stay with who they know.
leaflets will get you customers, even better if you follow up door knocking a day or to later. These customers may not be the most reliable, they may sign to to this plan but if they then miss a clean or fail to leave a gate unlocked, you then have to amend the monthly payment.
I understand you are looking for a second income stream but its very easy to over complicate a very easy job.
Research your client base, knock a few doors, buy some second hand wfp kit off ebay and try to tie up with someone local to show you the ropes, then you can complicate it.
Good luck.

I have my WFP gear ;D

after next week i will have some idea ;D

Yes i have a client database from carpets... it stretches from near far and wide..

some i wouldnt and dont want to target on the window front..

i will be targetting those existing customers in the area's i'm looking to break into with the WFP and also back this up with a 10k leaflet drop and a bit door knocking too... (dont want to operate more than 5 miles from my house if i can help it when i try to get off and running with this)

I was thinking along the lines of yes they call for the window cleaning and when i get there its an oportunity to up sell / mention other services and then offer the package and vise versa when someone calls for the carpet cleaning (not a hard sell though i dont operate like that but am capable of selling in my own way that works well for me)..

just bouncing some ideas around in my head that was all and why i asked...

i'm realistic to think i wont get many if any at all but you never know you may get 1 you may get 10!..... but i would also hate to think i didnt try it are consider it.

How many people would cancel a D/D... is it or would it be common for this kind of thing?....

I take on board the missed clean thing locked gates etc.... it would be simple to refund the rare odd missed clean surely..

Barking mad mate :) You are honestly thinking about doing work and not getting full payment for12 months? Madness.
Window cleaning payments are easy to collect, as you are starting up in window cleaning, offer standing order or on line direct to bank terms only :)

hi helen... yeah i know probably a bit nuts... its not for dibs n drabs the odd carpet here and there.... its high priced work .. like i said it will be on all carpets being cleaned & protected ( and you knw that doesnt come cheap for a whole house)... was ust thinking of trying to make it sound affordable ... dont tell me you're not sitting on a dfs sofa right now which you are paying on 24months interest free?? ;D.. all because you didnt want to stomach paying it in full straight away ;)...

i take a deposit then the rest is spread over 12 months... get 10 / 20 on board.. at say £40 each per month.. x10 is £400 x20 £800 per month hitting my bank ... for doing work that someone might have ordinarily not considered becuase of the one off hit in their pocket....i know i'm nuts... ;D
