New pure freedom hose reel damage
« on: March 31, 2012, 01:59:31 pm »
purchased the new pure freedom van mount hose reel mid Jan along with 100m i/d 8mm hose after around a month I decided to
buy a second one same reel same hose after around 3 weeks I noticed the the left and right discs were slightly bent the reel was perfect when first fitted  yesterday 30th march the discs were so bent the reel is now hitting both side bars the strange thing is the reel I bought in Jan in fine. Has any one else had this problem it seems like the discs are are not strong enough and not able to handle the weight of the hose full of water. Will be calling pure freedom on Monday may just be a bad batch they made

spoke to a Mr Thompson at P/F sent photos of the real hes not sure why this has happend . I advise him the steel they use is to thin to handle the weight of the hose when full of water theY need to stenghen the rims.

I except that the real reason is that your hose has expanded under the pressure from the water pump and the only way it can go is sideways. I have a similar problem with my minibore hose. If I rewind the hose onto the hose reel unpressurised and then switch on the pump, the expanding hose squeezes my hose reel so tight that I can't unreel the hose normally by pulling it out as I walk away.

I never had this problem with the first minbore hose I bought from Cleantec.

Its the hose that is the cause, the effect is the damaged hose reel IMHO.

I'm looking for a supplier who will supply a decent minibore hose.

mate before you do anything i had this problem, couldnt work out what was wrong, so i took all the hose off and the two sides of the real had unclipped themselves apart, i simply pushed them back together and held with the smallest type of bungee (just to stop it happening again)
