how fast is a 4040 ro?
« on: March 18, 2012, 03:00:10 pm »
i have just bought a second hand 4040 ro set up, it is from the cleaning warehouse same as this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Static-RO-Professional-system-40-7Litre-DI-TDS-/350484270227?pt=UK_HomeGarden_CLV_Cleaning_CA&hash=item519a7d8c93

i have been using for the past 2 and a half years a 300gpd ro with a booster pump, i have timed how fast the 40" is and its just under 1 litre per minute at 50psi. is this about right as i thought they were much faster than this?

have the prefilters been changed ? as this can seriously affect the amount you can produce if they are clogged or old.

50psi is not great pressure, get a booster pump and it will fly out trust me  ;)

I usually have the tap open so it's running at roughly 65-70psi, but in an effort so conserv water, Ive closed the waste tap more, and it's running at 120psi now, the tds has now gone from 007ppm to 012ppm

Out of interest, what is your Tap TDS?

Wow, my Tap TDS is 180ish, and water pressure allows 100psi when filling, but my TDS out is between 18 - 24..

I've got a mega old RO membrane in there, perhaps I ought to renew it!

Any suggestions for the best prices for replacement 4040 membrane?  First place that comes to mind is Gaps, but haven't bought much WFP stuff for ages..
