i do both and TBH, it doesn't cost much in set up for either, if you have a good carpet cleaning set up then you only really need a hard floor wand and leather you just need a few bits and bobs for cleaning.  i love cleaning both, and it equates to 25% of my annual turnover, and thats without spending any extra on marketting the 2 services, this year i will start marketting them. highly recommend training though, this is probably the most costly. done one stone course and will be doing another and i would recommend a leather cleaning and repair course, (not just cleaning) even if you don't want to do leather repair, it gives you confidence to clean better knowing you can rectify anything that goes wrong. and it will

Hi Barry, hope all is good up your neck of the woods.

Hard Floors & Leather can both be extremely profitable, more than carpets usually (unless of course protection is involved). Havent been getting so much hard floors lately, but not too fussed tbh. Funnily enough did a leather re-dye a few days ago for 2 low back sofas - took 2hrs @ £360.00. Product costs were nil as i had a load of dye left over from a job that never came about.

I agree with Derek in terms of ROI not much difference at my end too, but leather just takes longer to get to grips with and a good eye (if your going to do restoration).

Its good to diversify, not only for increased profits initially but to gain more work from the referrals for all the other services you offer.

It's like any part of your business if you don't advertise it you won't get the work.I started window cleaning and found this to be a good add on service cheap set up and I charge more for cleaning windows than some up here charge for cleaning carpets

I think I have been on 4 courses over the years (plus god knows how many m2 in between) and there is always something new to pick up.

On that matter has anyone done the same course more than once?

I dont do domestic. Dont want the competition. Id rather they spent money with me than competed for it.
