hi all,

Im stuck as what to do....

is it possible for me to work from my estate car using trad methods from downstairs
and wfp backpack for upstairs windows or difficult to reach ones?

how much water would i need roughly on an average round?

also i cant seem to find out if backpacks filter the water themselves....
can someone tell me how they work?

If you're thinking about starting a round then I'd try not to mix the two styles, go WFP from the start.  5x 25ltr barrels in the back and that should see you through 10 houses.  I'd not bother with a back pack either, build a good trolley and you can use it as a car mount system unless you need to go walk about.

You will have to make the pure water yourself at home, you can get a half decent system and DI vessel for about 300 notes I think, then you just need a storage tank at home.

If you do decide to use both yes you can fit it in. I do in my escort estate but only carry  two 25 litre cans as don't use it that much. One good tip get a piece of downpipe to fit on your roofrack to slide your pole in.

realistically its the best way as the downs get dirtier quicker and the custies see that they need doing.

i clean 99% on 4 wkly and id say 60% dont need doing yet ( glass ) frames and sills are a different matter altogether.

we do wfp for all my exterior work ,but no reason we could not do them trad downs apart from time constraints.
a decent backpack will do you 3 or 4 x 3 bed semis (uppers) so gauge it, you know how many u need to do per day

This is how i work, slide pole over seats and keep it in van so noone can nick it. Put backpack and barrels(however many i need for the day 2-6) in boot. Some rounds i use pole for odd windows some rounds all upstairs and some stand alone houses get fully poled. Im on a water meter so only use pole if i have to. Backpacks are great no hose reeling in snagging problems. I got my pole backpack and ro/di from john hewitt at selby north yorks for under 500 quid. Think some on here reckon cos they have blown loads on wfp that you should, but you dont have to

You'll need an RO system mate and a storage tank.  You can get a half decent RO system for 130 that will get you started then get a tank to store the water in.  When you have the money it's also worth getting a proper resin vessel to go on the end of your RO system as the little one's they come with are not that good.
