I use one, I'm not sure what you mean by socket connection, but this is what i use if I'm thinking along the lines you are thinking of

unlike the past post i have mounted mine by two threaded stud hooks, bolted to the frame inside the van,it can be lifted off the studs at any time,so now when i reel the hose in i am standing, more or less straight instead of bending over the reel,i have a couple of cordless drills in the garage doing nothing so i thought i would give this a try tomorrow if it doesnt work its only cost £4.00 for the socket connections from screwfix

The screw fix adapters are exactly what you need. Socket on the end, been using mine about a year. Invest in a low torque 18v lithium. 90quid b and q. (extra battery and half hour charger) I get about 50 reels from one battery. (100m) Keep on lowest torque setting (important) will stop you shredding plastic spindle. Mines lasted a year a plastic is still good.

Keep handle handy in case your battery goes. btw. I just hold my drill I think it gives more control. Dont fix it down imo.

Got a mate that had tool made for 60quid to hold socket. Gutted when I found the screwfix adapters :-X

Any questions 07401568219 happy to help.

Ive tired a drill on someones system, works well

What i will say though is like BVC said keep it on low, not only you shredding the plastic spindle but i found it can really pull on your wrist if your not carefel.

Don't mess around with recharging battery's, wire it in to a 12v car battery.
