I got this new custie last month £15 monthly. 4 bed detached. Anyways when I had finished last time woman said have you done the double garage doors? I said no but I'll give them the once over. Same thing happened this time after I'd packed everything away came the shout "can you clean the garden table pls? I said I'll do it next time as I'd packed everything away!!
Some peeps don't half take the pee don't they!!!

I bet if you asked for an extra £2 for garage door her jaw would drop

After a few missed goes i bet she'd want to know why

basically you could just say that you can only carry so much water a day and have to earn your money from it so you will have to charge xxxx as you could get an extra house done on that water

Forgot to say that included in the price was scrubbing mud off frames which their lively puppy had left behind. The bloke said last time that I was quicker doing the job than time before. Its because I didn't do them garage doors thats why!!

simply say to the lady i can clean your table at £50-00 she will soon stop asking you, besides your her window cleaner not slave.

I had a new custy and on the second clean she asked me to clean the garage door as well.  It was mingin and took me about 10 mins so when I went to collect I said

"ok that's £10.00 for the house and an extra £2.00 so that makes £12.00 altogether please"
she said "oh, I didn't realise you would charge me for the garage door"
so I said "but I'm a business, why on earth would you think that it would be free?"

I can remember that priceless look on her face as it slowly dawned on her that yes, she had been a cheeky cow to expect something for nothing from someone in business.

I do often go the extra mile for custies- such as nipping to the shop when they're ill or cleaning their garage door for free - but that is when I decide - not when they think I can 'just quickly' do something for free that will save them time and effort.

Our time is valuable and we should be paid accordingly when asked to perform any service.

I learnt my lesson early on with a £10 job

"oh can you just give the big mirrored doors in the kitchen a quick wipe"

does em and dont charge any extra ... next month does the outside and knocks for payment

still got the job ... old dear died and daughter now lives there but still do mirrors as a reminder to myself to do nowt for free

the moment they say "can you go over the garage doors" etc i tell them my charge straight away.usually its a couple of quid but sometimes its a fiver if their dirty.sometimes i ask them do they want me to clean them every time or every other time for a slight extra charge.works for me.

any extras like conny roofs/fascia cleans etc get booked in next time her windows are due.with agreed price for the job.

ive never had a customer ask me to clean their garden furniture though!!
