Recycle the waste water
« on: February 23, 2012, 08:43:35 am »
I have a static tank and about 30% ish of the water is waste water and goes down the drain.

Can this water go straight back into the system somehow to be used again rather than waste it ? does anyone know how if possible as the tank is connected to the mains.

some people do do this but it will speed up the interval times you need to change filters and membrains as this water is mainly dirty water

problem is the waste water has such a high tds that it you will have to change the membranes, filters, resin etc on your ro unit far more frequently..then you will need some way of storing the waste water before you try and purify it and you will probably need a booster pump to push it back through your r/o unit again. it can be done but is it really worth the extra hassle..
