New Terms and Conditions on back of quote sheet
« on: February 21, 2012, 10:05:48 pm »
This goes on the back of the quote sheet.

We don't charge any extra for the first time, no matter how dirty the windows are because we don't usually do one offs. Because we expect a regular ongoing arrangement, we are happy to spend as much time as it takes to get them clean the first time.

If you are not satisfied with our service or cleaning results please contact us within 24 hours from date of clean and also confirm your complaint in writing to our office via letter or e-mail. We will respond and rectify the issue to your satisfaction within 48 hours.

Payment for window cleaning  must be made within 3 days from date of clean (unless you are away from home / on holiday). Payment can be made either by Cash, Cheque, Bacs or Standing order. If you are not in at the time of our visit we will leave all necessary payment instructions.

Prices are based on the agreed frequency. If you wish to change the frequency then the price will change because bird residue and dirt builds up on the glass over time.

For monthly visits the frequency is 5-6 weeks and never less than 5.

We work all year round.

To clean windows at the rear of your property New Heights need to have access, therefore your gate/garage should be unlocked. We will text / call the night before so you can organise access. If this isn't possible please supply us with a key for this purpose.

New Heights request that all small children and pets are kept inside the property whilst we are cleaning your windows. All items of garden furniture/household items/plant pots and any other obstacles should be away from the windows to allow reasonable access for New Heights operatives to perform their duties. If this is not the case we cannot guarantee the clean quality of those affected windows. The area should be free from any kind of animal residue.

New Heights will will clean all outside windows where possible, however any windows that are inaccessible or unsafe will not be cleaned.

New Heights are comprehensively insured under our Public Liability Insurance Policy. For more information please contact us.

New Heights commences work at 8.30am Monday-Friday and (sometimes) at 9.30 on Saturday and are usually finished by 6.30pm at the very latest. We do not work on public holidays.

If it is not possible to access the rear of the property we will clean the front for 2/3 of the quoted price. However; please note that prices are based on an agreed frequency for the entire property.

If weather conditions are too cold to allow use of our normal equipment at height we will clean the ground floor for a cost of around 50% of the usual price.

During the darker months of winter we sometimes work using headtorches. Quality of all work at all seasons is guaranteed.

New Heights will remain polite, courteous, reliable, uniformed and professional at all times.

I have issues with T&C's by businesses who insist on so many things but don't offer half as many in return.

Maybe it's because they have more work than they can handle.  ???

I wish all my local windys used them...

I'd have so much work cos I'm a bit more flexible myself.
A manager is generally someone who has been promoted to the position by someone else who didn't see them as a threat.
Hence all people are promoted to the level of their incompetence

Every now and again we get a terms and conditions post. I have not posted on this subject for years. It does work people say negative comments. I have been using them for 29yrs now without a problem. And I can tell you now my round would stand on par with all you that say more work for me.

If you want to use terms and conditions, go ahead it wont affect your business one jot.

But you cant in force it , heard it all before.

i think the stuff about keeping your kids and pets locked in doors is pretty extreme.  and when you talk about access to windows i.e plant pots etc, surely you would should factor in your quote the time it takes to move them as well?  if i asked for a quote for my windows clean i would be really put off by this as it seems so much bother.  people may spend 2 minutes in a month thinking about their window cleaner, whereas this makes it seem like hard work

These 2 points are poss a reason not to bother, it wont help your business having them and it wont stop messers. Maybe it will make you feel better when you drop them.
Iv'e tried them and it changed the balance of business for me from a helpful service oriented business to a cold ruthless machine that didn't care. I prefer the former as its easier to relieve people of money when they like you.

I have not lost any work because off having terms and conditions. In fact last year we picked up 12,000 of new work in six months.

Glad to hear it Roy, I simply think it a waste of time as it isnt really enforceable like you said.

Maybe using it from the off with new customers is fine, but, as I did, trying to enforce it to established customers was unproductive.

Each to their own eh.  :D

from oh dont them again my husband will do them

to

a simple not this time ....

no t&cs are going to stop that.

remember - the customers always wrong.  :D

This job would be a doddle if it weren't for the customers.  ;D

New customers will accept the terms if they want you to clean their windows, existing customers will struggle to accept them so I agree with SunShine on this.
It should help ensure that new customers behave themselves a bit better than existing ones at least.
