Happens in my van, and on the inside of the roof.
When the heater is in there it never happens.

I tend to get more ice on the inside of the windscreen than the outside!

Obvious maybe, but have you left anything wet in the cab?  That'll do it.

I dont have leaks in van, but since putting heater on the inside gets really bad condensation.  In the morning the front windscreen is frozen on the inside!

Guess as mentioned its the cold weather outside and the warm(ish) van.......did think about putting a dehumidifier in there too, but couldnt be bothered

You can stop the condensation on the inside of your van roof by no more nailsing some 25mm polystyrene to it. Helps keep the heat in too.

I have a fan heater in back of van, which caused condensation in front of van, the way to stop it is - put  fan heater in cab aswell, lovely and warm in morning and no ice to scrap on windscreen - problem solved....

You've probably never had a motor before with a water tank in it ;)

ARE YOU LOT FOR REAL ?

All you have to do is slighty open the cab windows , 5mm will do , it stands to reason that if you have heat in the van then condensation will occur .

If there is a bulkhead between the cab and back, if you only heat the back, then leave the window open slightly you will get ice on the inside of the windscreen. I know, I tried, after I scrapped of the ice, the inside looked like it was covered in snow.
