1) You can short term connect the Battery direct to the pump, This will allow you to work (snow permitting)
2) get the controller back to PF the controls have a 12 month Warranty.
3) When you were last running the controller - did you notice any issues EG poor flow rate?
I have noticed over the last few days a number of people mentioning flow rate. It is possible that the cold weather is having an effect.
Cold hoses will not expand as much also the viscosity (colder water flows slower) of the water is likely to have an effect.
The short fix is to turn up the flow rate on the controller this means
* the pump has to work harder
* Higher Current draw from the battery
* There is a higher current across the controller
This higher current may cause a burn out
Should the flow rate still be poor the temptation is to turn the flow up higher on the controller making the above worse.
During the cold weather check for any icing in some cases it may be necessary to re calibrate the controller to allow for the fact the hose has less expansion.
