what would you guys do?
« on: December 16, 2011, 12:15:40 pm »
i have this customer that is never in when i Go to clean i need them to give me access to the rear they have 2 gates both locked with code locks they will not give the code as they are worried about the dog getting out.

last month i called 3 times before i caught them in but when they are in it is one of my best jobs nice easy house well priced £20 and always get a tip? cant do fronts only as they really don't need cleaning every 4 weeks but rears do due to trees dual carriageway ect  they where 6 weeks but changed to 4 weekly due to rears.

im sick of arriving and cant get access though what would you lot do?

try texting, email etc if you arrive and still no access lets say for the next two cleans you should consider letting them know about the problems you are having if things dont improve  add up the time etc you have spent not cleaning them and then i would replace with a more efficient customer

if its only the code you need to gain access then i would be insisting on the code or explain u wont be able to do them anymore ... sounds too much hassle.

I have a customer who has a massive house in posh part Chester access thru a coded security gate and he gave me the code when I explained the reasons AND Im a scouser so u shouldnt have a problem  ;)

I would do the fronts only, and leave a note in her door to say why you were unable to access the rear. Once she realizes they won't clean themselves, she will give you access. Then charge her a premium for the privilege.

Climb over the gate with a ladder?

Take a bunch of keys and say "I've got loads of keys and codes for gates can I have yours?"

If they say no then unless it is because the rottweiler will chomp yer nadgers then I would say "it's an issue of trust and as you don't feel I can be trusted to not let bonzo out or nick your garden gnomes then you should find another w/c, g'day!"

i had a simular custy who had his gate locked, i said i can text the night before and to leave it unlocked, custy originally said yes then when i went to clean the gate was locked, i climbed over with the ladder and cleaned the rears which i dont normally do but because it was a 25 quid 4 weekly house i didnt want to lose it, i spoke to custy and told them that i wont climb over again gate must be unlocked, next time i went same again gate locked so i billed them the full price for just the fronts, custy rang up and told me they dont want to leave it unlocked and wanted me to climb over every time, i told them to jog on! dumped.

I do the same as well. Why chase after them as it sounds like a trust issue or penny pinching through financial hardship. Might as well gain from their inconvenience or lack of trust out of principal of not being taken advantage of :)
