Tippex

I hate this time of the year. I'm fully booked until xmas eve and all I seem to have done this week is Tippex out jobs and re-book them and then juggle other work to fill the gaps.

One of my mates is moving into a new house next week, so far he has re-booked his cleaning date 4 times, including cancelling the clean tomorrow. I try to be sympathetic, but the last time he changed the date I had to re-book 3 other jobs. Everyone has been really accommodating but it's still a ball-ache.

I've got new carpet to fit in 3 different houses and all 3 have issues ranging from decorators not finishing or fireplaces not being delivered.

Roll on the 24th, whatever hasn't been done by then - TOUGH !

I've had 3 who are due to complete a house sale and want me to keep days free to clean the carpets just before they move in....... but they can't guarantee they will complete so might not have the work done on the day.

they thought I was being unreasonable for not keep the full days free just in case

They could have paid you a retainer, in order to hold the dates, but if you had suggested that I bet I know what they would have said :)
Guess you are just waiting for their call.........not!!   some people eh?

Would you charge a cancellation fee if someone had haggled over the price eventually booked, then cancelled the morning of the clean, claiming family matters, then failed to rebook? ps nothing is in writing.

Fingers crossed I haven't had too much of the cancellations/re-bookings you often get this time of year.

Yeah the diary can get in a bit of a mess!  What I do is if a day gets completely messed about, pritt-stick a piece of blank paper over the page and write it out again!

I keep peel off labels at the back pages.
Which reminds me, I need to restock.

I keep it all on my phone calendar as a back up.
