As I say, finally played with 2 poles today, the CLX18 and the SLX22.

To be honest I was far more impressed with the CLX18 as the other pole, apart from 2 of the clamps coming off in my hand, just felt flimsy. I did however like the closed length of them both, very manageable.

Just my opinion based on two minutes playing.

i have a 22ft CLX and a 25ft SLX.the SLX is a far better pole.strong,rigid,light.

the clx is ok but a bit too bendy at full extend for my liking.good pole if your on a budget though.

i have clx 4.18.22 and 27 and must say every pole is great but the 27 is far too bendy at full length and also heavy,the rest are excellent!

I have a slx 30 and it will be two years old In february, replaced all the levers last night and put a new super lite wide extreme on it, I have to say it feels like new again and the brush is by far the best I have used, love it.

I would of gone through four xtels by now and I reckon I'm only half way through its life, worth every penny.

For workers.
Like the 4 footer for conny roofs if i have to climb on the roof to get angles.
I use the 22 footer my mate uses 18
27 there for the odd window here or there!

I've used the CLX once before and I found it to be pretty whippy, better then an Xtel, but no match for an SL-X. I'd never get a CLX. Then again, I'd never get any staff either.

I love my clx18 - just over a year old, used & abused daily and she is still going strong... not had to do anything with the clamps, they are still firmly in place !

I'm shortly going to get a Gardiner slx approx 25th? foot pole, was going to get a carbon but heard they don't last as long. currently got Gardiners glassfibre so I'm used to a certain amount of floppy anyway!  for daily use (abd got to be 5 or 6 foot max closed) would you recommend slx?

SL-X poles last for ages if looked after. I'm still on my first SL-X, 3,5+ years later. Get the SL-X, you won't be dissapointed.

I love my slx 30 and would definitely not be without it and my new sl wide extreme is amazing,i love that its single trim.. Excellent brush and pole

Got my first Gardiners pole a week ago a CLX-22.I struggled on with one of those Brodex aluminium poles for about a year or so before that so its like night and day weight wise.Bit underwhelmed by the fact the top screw in section which the brush goes on came loose after a couple of days though.

Although I have a couple of SLxs and a 48ft extreme (+3 extensions), my current all day pole is the CLX 27 with a sill brush.  Whippy at full stretch but for a few jobs, that whippiness is an advantage.  Today I will need to fit the pole between concrete parapets and the building.  It's very tight.  The bend in the pole is just perfect for it.  Also, the no1 section sometimes rubs on the concrete.  So if I need to replace that section earlier than the rest of the pole, at least it will be a lot cheaper.  I shouldn't need to buy any more poles for quite a long time - but I think I will be ordering more sill brushes at some point.  I really do like them but only bought one to start with to see how it felt.

25ft SLX is used for all my work with sl dual trim flocked for most maintenance wc.

sl dual trim mono for conny roofs/fascias/soffit cleaning.

no need for any other pole for me.my clx 22ft is an emergency back up pole along with a brodex 25ft hydra.but they rarely get used.

i might turn the hydra into an 18ft pole for lower domestic work  with an extreme on the end. itll be managable and be pretty light but i dont see the point of it at the moment though.

Ok maybe the guy who let me have a play with his poles didn't look after them, I don't know.

Obviously the SLX is a decent pole judging by the ammount of GArdiners fans on here, I just felt that, next to my Ergalite pole it didn't feel as sturdy.

Obviously not having used the thing day in day out I can't comment on it properly; though I do know that if I get one I may well change the clamps, like I do on all my poles. I have some lever type clamps I was put on to by a guy in London called Nigel who's company I can't remember the name of - sorry mate!!! They're brilliant and so easy to adjust.

Like I said though, the closed down length of the SLX is great so will definately be taking a drive down to Cornwall in the new year.

I'll 2nd that,I  use a super lite
Medium double trim, sill brush ,the angle of the jets is spot on , best brush I have used so far, and in the 6+ years I'be been wfp,I've used a few!
