Hi guys,

I need your advice,

Im thinking of starting a window cleaning round using the water fed pole method (I don`t fancy climbing ladders at my age (52).

Is there much resistance from customers who live in homes (not commercial premises) to WFP cleaning as opposed to the traditional method?

Yes and you might find some customers don't like it. But it's a great tool and most customers will love it.
Might take you a short while to get used to trailing a hose around and occassionally having to bugger about sorting equipment out but I find that I can work faster with WFP.

52 isnt old for ladders. i tell you something it will force you to get in shape which is a very good thing.   im on ladders and from what i hear on my round  id be cancelled left right and centre if i went w/f/pole .   this is mostly council houses i might add . houses with clutter around may not be very friendly when their stuff is got wet by water spattering around . just my opinion  . and i absolutely know w/f/p is excellent for high buildings

Why climb ladders if you can work from the ground?


When I was in the ambulance service we used to transfer young men in wheel chairs, a high number of these had fallen off ladders and would spend the rest of their life in a wheel chair.

It is much safer not to climb ladders.

Where I live there are people cleaning windows with water fed poles.

i have a very established round that i cleaned trad for 16 years.switched to wfp a year ago and lost around 6 customers because of wfp.ive picked up a lot more BECAUSE ive got the pole though.it really is the way to go.

lots of window cleaners use both trad and wfp.im one of them but i very rarely use the ladders for cleaning upper windows.

you can clean to a better standard with wfp

you can reach more windows

fascia/soffit/conny roof cleaning if you want extra add on jobs

you can now clean those awkward houses and bigger properties including commercial without risking your neck.

its a no brainer.wfp is here to stay and is the way forward if you want to be a professional window cleaner.

we use wfp on all our residential customers, no probs whatsoever, in fact they get better clean cause all frames & vents are cleaned as well & all windows u cant reach using ladders.

is it me or is this a nother trad v wfp  just look at the posts from guys who said wfp no chance  i was one of em but its the best thing ive done ie more earnings etc more time at home with family list gose on dont knock it before youve tride it thats my take on it sorry if ive ruffeld a few feathers

I got a lot of my custom from people who used the ego but never liked it. My opinion is I like ladders. It keeps me fit and I like to see that the window is clean. I also do many con roofs and facias with a normal pole connected to a hose and this comes out fine. Prob not as good as AFP but still does a good job. Like everything there are pluses and minuses & I would never knock the AFP as never used 1 but was thinking of getting a little backpack as a starter
