Customer threatened legal action !
« on: October 26, 2011, 09:15:16 pm »
Had a customer leave a message today , going off on one saying she had not agreed with any canvassers that she wanted her windows cleaned & that if we went onto
Property she would take legal action .

We phoned round all canvassed customers last week to book in for this week .

We leave messages for the ones not in saying we will be round on x day ,
Usual stuff , any problems ring back etc .

She phoned up went off on one , I phoned her back &  say hold on how did they get your Home number &  name ? Seems a bit odd & also the fact she acknowledged
The price she was quoted for the gutters etc whilst on the phone .

Have yet to speak to the canvassers ! .

I used a canvasser and im afraid to say that sometimes they will say anything to get a name & number to get paid..... i got stung atleast 4 times whilst they were working for me.

Or it could be hat she is trying to pull a fast one
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go

I would have to agree with Blue Frog speaking from a sales point of view there are some unscrupulous door knockers out there.
Cold calling is not the most effective way of generating new Business it is a very intensive numbers game knock a 100 doors 10 might speak to you of the 10 - 1 might buy.
It may be she is trying it on or she may feel she has been tricked, getting to the bottom of it may take a little time but it will be time well spent in respect to your business.

Good luck with it.

could be that the wrong address has been cleaned also if there have been a few in one road she may have said no to the canvasser and canvasser has made a mistake writing wrong address down for customer who is interested, its happened to us a few time even tho we ring n confirm all customers on and go thru details with them to ensure there all correct

Spoke to canvassers today , he can remember her & said she wanted her windows cleaned , had to clean in her close today , got 6 houses
Right next door & surrounding hers , was thinking of knocking to see if she wanted a
Windy & seeing what she's says as she has never seen me . ;D

Don't mind custy saying no , no need to be rude lol , think she thinks price quoted was to high & she's just made up some cok n bull story to add insult to injury ,

She's seems quite up her self  when I spoke to her .

On the canvassing front , we've had about 50 % retention rate , with canvassers
Having to replace the cancelled work ,

Good points are works compact ,

Bad points are pricing & hassle arranging & training custys as dealing with them
From second contact .

Was thinking of setting some ground rules around the next batch ie , if a conserv
Then this is extra etc ,

Also providing a list of times to agree first clean .

One canvassers I spoke to said they get custy to sign a basic agreement , which I thought was quite good ,
