1000 litre tank van insurance
« on: October 25, 2011, 09:06:38 pm »
Hi All, it seems to be getting harder to get insurance for the big water tanks. I have two similar quotes, one from NFU and the other from A-plan {thanks to others on here}but no others I have contacted will quote for the big tank.
Are any of you guys planing to move to a smaller tank because of this issue?

Unfortunately there's not as much competition with a tank as a modification.  They have just got me insured with AXA for a 800 litre tank.  The basic premium was under £500 (with a £250 excess).  The optional add ons took it up quite a way though (breakdown, vehicle loan, tools cover etc.)

Are we talking about fully secured here OR  'unsecured' ie... just strapped down.

Never argue with an idiot, they will only bring you down to their level, and beat you with experience

If it's my post you are replying too, the tank is fully secured and logged as a modification.  They do ask if it's been professionally fitted.  Mine was fitted at Omnipole.
