Do websites work for domestic work?
« on: October 22, 2011, 03:44:46 pm »
I'm wondering what sort of response people get from their websites in terms of domestic customer enquiries?

i'm thinking of getting one, but wondering whether to spend the £850 on getting leaflets dropped instead?

They do work but there not great just because you have a website doesn't  mean the phone will keep ringing.

I personally wouldn't  spend that sort of money on a website.

there is lots of info on Google with regards to building a website.

I had my brother in law do mine and got so fed up waiting for changes decided to look into building my own i then went on to building my uncle one and they are both doing pretty well in there areas

It is worth having but don't spend that kind of money on it. Either do it yourself for pennies or get someone to run you one off for £100-£200 and spend the rest on leaflets.

we got more calls from our single line (and may I add, free) listing on yell.com. only had website up for couple months, not really had any work yet from it. but don't need to spend fortune,.

I used a company called ipage (Google them, wasn't sure if allowed to put links, trying to be good boy), they registered domain name and hosted it for £36 for year if remember right. free website builder easy to use and design yourself. jobs a gud un (halfway there anyway!).
