Hi

I have been thinking about getting a leaflet done by a designer someone that knows what they are doing design wise.

Has anyone else had a leaflet designed by a professional designer has it been worth the outlay did you get a better response from it.

i contacted one designer and i was quoted £150-200 plus vat 
Which is alot of money for a leaflet design but if it gets me a better response the investment would be worth it considering i would not change the design for 24 months

My wife is a graphic designer and has been for 16 years and she has worked for some big names in retail/fashion. so she does all of my design work.

I found that they look very professional but in the right area.

I put 2000 out on an estate near me and had a very low response rate I then put another 2000 out in a posh area and the response was much better.

I cant be sure but I think they look expensive and therefore people assume that you are going to be expensive.

Have one designed by a professional every time. If youre charging a reasonable amount, then two extra jobs in the next two years would pay for it.

This always surprises me. You wouldnt dream of creating your own van, most of you you dont make your own poles, pumps and tanks.  You dont weave and tailor your own clothes. Etc, etc.

But you do design your own leaflets, the thing that is meant to make customers want your services, maybe the most important thing you do.  Strange.

I had 5000 designed and printed by a Customer of mine who is a Graphic Desinger i thought they were very and professional, nice colour glossy leaflets and put them out to the same areas at the same time as i do every year and the results were very bad about 10 new custys usually get about 50 -60 defo gonna stick to black & white standard next time.
