HWE on electric recliner
« on: November 20, 2005, 02:13:41 pm »
Can I use HWE on an electric reclining chair?
I am going to quote the job next week, and the lady says that a label on sofa states do not over wet.Until I do my tests I do not know what material it is,would it be safer to use shampoo?
Thanks  Barbara

p.s  I charge £25 per seating position does this seem a fair price.

Babara,

I have been cleaning electric recliners for Social Services for years with no problems although it's obviously better not to over wet.

I would unplug the chair whilst cleaning.

On price bear in mind one chair will still involove setting up/down so price accordingly.

Cheers

Hi Barbara

The price seems about right, I charge £125 for a three peice suite (3 seater + 2 arm chairs) but price higher if just the one chair and an awquard one too.

As for using HWE, should be fine, if the label says not to over wet it sugest that you can wet clean it, but would make sure, before starting identify the material and always test for coulor fast,

The main prob seems to be the electric, obviously unplug it first sounds daft but an easy mistake to make, my advice if using a T/M use a Dri Master from Hydramaster the best tool for upholstery runs water over the surface instead of spraying every where, if not try to use a tool with the jets inside, reduces the risk of overspray and keep your pressure low plenty of drying equipment, and make sure it's dry before the custy uses it.

Job done anouther happy custy

Done a few in my time, take advice given! But must emphasize don’t go into robot mode UNPLUG IT!

Can’t comment on the Dri Mater tool some one forgot it! Kleenright do an upholstery tool very good!
