Banking for idiots

I've finally sorted  business bank account. How does it work with paying your earnings in? Do I need to pay every penny I get into the account for the tax man?

Of course you do..... how else would he be able to check on how much you have earnt ;D
It will have to correspond with your paperwork and figures that you keep every penny logged on in your yearly figures ;D

Should I be writing down what I actually take from a day's cleaning (cash on day...) or what the day's worth in total (including the outstanding payments I'll go out to collect later on in the week)? Yes, I'm an idiot. Thank you.

There's no obligation to pay it all in so long as you declare it on your accounts.  I often take a bit of cash from the day's takings maybe to buy a bit of diesel or pop into somewhere to buy a fitting - or sometimes something not even related to work.
