« on: October 31, 2005, 08:27:25 am »
Hi

I run a small domestic cleaning company in Oxfordshire and I am considering looking into office cleaning. I was just wondering where I statrt really. Do i send out introductory letters to companies? what will they ask me to provide? will I need to get a solicitor to make my first contract?  :-\I realy have no idea where to start. Any help will be great.

Thanks

I was in the same position just a few short weeks ago. I lurked on the site, just about reading the archives page by page. You soon get to 'know' the members whose contributions are consistently useful and, often, laugh-out-loud funny. There is also the search function.

Before long you will have a clear idea exactly what you need to do. And many on here are generous enough to supply you with the info/templates required to get it done. That's just about where I am now.

Honestly, I recommend reading through the archives; it's time well invested. There are posts with URLs that will lead you to some useful sites.

Good luck

Hi Freddie,
Thanks for that. I am just doing so. How is it going for you? Where are you from? I must admit this site is great.

Your profile doesn't indicate your location. I'm based in London, covering The City and West End at the moment.

I'm currently subcontracting. However, stumbling upon this site has given me the confidence and know-how I was lacking. Once I put my Quotation Package together - in the next couple of weeks - I'll be ready to start pounding the streets and winning my own contracts.

So where are you based?

Sorry I must update my profile. I'm based in Oxfordshire. I'm glad you are getting on ok. The domestic side of a cleaning company does seem to be easier to get your head round but i'm sure I will work it out.

Only as a comment JJ, but if your going into commercial then you might want to think about your name, JJ Domestic, if that's your business name, suggests domestic work only and some commercials won't do business with you if they think all you do is domestic.

My Opinion!!

Thanks for that Chris, again this will be something that we will have to consider. I suppose first thing is first and we should start looking at what documents to put into our quotation pack. Anyway thanks for all the advice. You really are a superb bunch :-*
