Spider season
« on: October 05, 2011, 08:11:40 pm »
Bloody swarms of them around all the corners of the framework this time of year.

What's best to use in the removal of the blood and guts stains they leave behind on the Upvc. The top layer on some marks comes off but leaves behind a stubborn blood type stain underneath. It's never really bothered me in the past but there are some really big splat marks on a conservatory that I did today and it doesn't look great.

Cheers,
Lance

There are some big mothers around this year.

I saw the biggest house spider I have ever seen yesterday.

Some of the spiders we've had around the frames are that big, they wear football shirts and have bad attitudes!! The amount of spider shyte and the anchor points they set to fix their webs is always hard to get off with normal trad cleaning. When it gets really bad, I add amonia to the mix on my aplicator. Smells strongly of wee, but  I've smelled worse myself on hot days!!!  ;D ;D ;D

The spiderpoope seems to land neatly on the lower bevels bit of upvc trim near each corner - I use a dot of Astonish upvc cleaer on a  damp scouring sponge and give them a quick wipe before starting each window.

Adds a few seconds to each window, but the customers love it, don't seem to get the spiders on the upper floors? or maybe they just dump downstairs?

My pet hate at the mo is slimy snail trails

UPVC solvent cleaner gets it off, trouble is where you clean it off it comes up that clean/white that you end up having to do the whole cill coz the rest looks grey by comparison and taking much longer that you really should :(
