I need your input
« on: October 12, 2011, 09:19:51 am »
I'm looking into setting up a design and print business with a mate of mine who does printing and design already, I'm looking at doing the things listed below but just wanted a idea as too what most of you have paid for them, were looking at doing budget self applying van sign writing the kind of thing you can get on eBay, but trying to get a set price for small (berlingo) medium (expert) large (vivaro) xl (movano) size vans.

Logo design?

Leaflet design?

Sign written van?

Magnetic door signs (these will be laminated so don't fade)

Mods I'm not advertising as won't be putting link to website just want idea as too what people have or would pay,

my Maxus hi-top is being sign written today -  front sides & rear for £270 + VAT

that included design/layout and vehicle prep

Mark that is pretty much exactly what were doing, we would get vehicle shape, color etc, do the design, send custy proof, then once it's agreed do all the prep, send it to custy with instructions in how to apply along with tools supplied, and the prices they quote are pretty much what we where thinking,

i thought it was pretty good really easy to fit i only done a that will do job until i can afford to get it done better but now im thinking about re-doing it with images but going through them again as it was easy enough to do so why pay someone else to do it.

how about images though will it be cost affective as i am going to design my next one with the whole back of the van as one image im getting an image made with contact numbers web address ect already on the image then put that over both rear doors. surely that wont be cheap to print?

Putting wording on vehicle is pretty easy it's just getting it matching both sides that's the hard bit, I would get a  image fitted properly if covering back doors as this isn't easy to do, I'm getting the whole back of mine done and after witnessing the work that goes into if if you want it to look good don't do yourself.

i reckon i will be able to do it.

it was so easy doing the wording even outside in the wind lol

I cant see the point paying to have it done and what's the worst that can happen £125 down the drain

im pretty handy i can turn my hand to most things so im willing to try lol  ::)

Mine cost £360, they designed it, and did all 4 sides, which includes a stripe from front to back......and covering over back windows with grey vinyl and removing wiper.

Might have got it cheaper elsewhere, but this is good vinyl, apparently taxi wrap can cause probs after a few months, so be careful using that stuff, i think a good quality vinyl will last a lot longer and can look just as good.

Heres front and back pic..

Your right about vinyl mate, people always go with the cheapest quote, we've got a company local who use cheap vinyl and don't laminate there work so it fades after a while, I can now pick out from vans that go by and can tell what is there work and it's always the same company that's done it as the little advertising sticker on the back let's you know of the bad work they've done.
