Fan belt misery

Hi all  happily cleaning someones carpets today go outside to get some air and can see a lot of smoke coming from where my van was parked so  walked  round the corner and it looked like my van was on fire there was smoke bellowing out of the side door as i got closer there was white smoke pouring out the top of my truckmount well it turned out to be steam anyway i turned it off quickly and noticed the alternator/fan belt had snapped ...it looked like a easy job to do so i popped up to the local autoparts centre and matched up belt well the truckmount is still in bits and it got to dark too see to carry on ...WHAT A F***ER OF A JOB TO DO !!! i lost out on job this afternoon and it looks like i will lose out tommorow aswell all because of a poxy f***ing fan belt well anyway sorry for the  rant  im just about to go and apply for a job in mcdonalds !

Funny my belt went on me yesterday I couldn't locate one immediately so had one sent from hm fortunately no fish and chip shop fire like yours.

i am in the midst of saving up for a porty but dont have the priveledge of ready cash at the moment  :)

from experiance we now always carry a spare set of fan belts! nothing worse than when something stupidly easy breaks and there is sod all you can do about it!

I keep a spare fanbelt attached to the blower so if the one in use snaps its an easy fix to put on without having to undo the drive coupling.

Hi guys my truckmount is not designed in a way in which i could leave a spare one on  :)
