Di help required.
« on: August 30, 2011, 06:40:23 pm »
Put new resin in my mates Di unit yesterday. Used Tulsion 115 and filled the 11 litre Di unit as required. Checked all the TDS readings and had a post RO reading of 15 and a final product Di output of 0. All good so far. Left it filling the first IBC tank and after a 1,000 litres switched to fill the second IBC. Checked the TDS after the first 1,000 litres and it was up to 6. Bit of head scratching later opened up the Di unit and found about a litre of water missing and the riser tube unseated from the top. Refilled the water, reseated the tube and reassembled. TDS now 0 again and flow rate increased as well. Looks like air getting into the Di unit and pushing the water out.

Anyone else had this problem or anything like it?

I've had that before, a long time ago (the air space bit) could never figure out how it happened! ???

Anyhow, It's much easier to get the riser tube back in & lined up after a resin change if you fill the vessel with water first. ;)
