Think some types of laminate is really cheap now..

You're not wrong, have seen some real beat up "hard" floors in hallways


As a few have said in the above posts and id also say it was them tv make over programmes to blame too.
Seen a few lately and they all seem to be going back to carpets

the price for cleaning a good big ( lots of variables here)  rug can and will pay way more than a carpet, so imo C'om on Laminate bring it on !!! there is always an angle if people have pride and want keep things/get things clean.
In saying this been to site today and my carpety (DIR) bloke ( 18 vans 47 staff ) says that carpets are back on the menu and they are slapping the back end off Laminate ( oo er titter ) so much so that he feels there is a change in buying trends from all levels of buyers.

Derek, this post is basically saying that all you have is a load of incorrect scaremainering propoganda, therefore i'll give you a tenner to take it all of your hands.............I know I know, I'm a saint  ;D ;D ;D ;D
