Tiled Roof cleaning
« on: May 04, 2011, 07:10:25 pm »

Hi, Had a call today from someone wanting their tiled roof cleaned. Has I have do not attend to climb on the roof. Would it be possible to clean with a water fed pole and chemicals? Has any one done roof cleaning before?

Whenever I get these calls, I say no we clean windows and give them a guys number that does it.

Saves any stress on my part.

Theres a guy around here that does it with a pressure washer working from the top down. Results are awesome. Roofs look like new. Think he charges about £300.

Yeah we do

Strong wooden bristle brush drilled for two or if big enough three fan jets, easy no effective yes safe bloody right

It does actually work really well and having the lads stand on the ground makes me sleep easier at night ( yeah right I mean don't want sued )

Just like first time with wfp takes a bit of getting used too but safer and far far less mess to clean up after unlike pressure washing where it can go everywhere

I have too. But - never again! It's like trying to eat a plateful of peas with a straw  ;D

Gordon. Your system sounds a bit clever. Like Steve I'd be very interested to have a look if you wouldn't mind. Is there any danger of knocking a tile loose with it?

I think its a lot harder and more dangerous doing it off a ladder.  Better with a roof ladder, even just with a stiff brush

I've been testing a similar system to this:

Results are far from instant, but it does work.

Hi Nathanael,

What equipment are you using this with?

I would have thought at a first look that this would be a good add on for our equipment. What ratio is the chemical to water mix and would a 7 litre pm Vyair pump work with the correct spray nozzle?
