Rotary for Charly Pads?
« on: October 19, 2005, 09:05:18 am »
Hi,

After searching (and not finding anything) I thought i would write a quick post to ask what rotary maching should be used with Charly pads?

I have been told that it should rotate at <175rpm, but have no idea about weight.  Specifically, does it have to be a rotary with a low weight/area ratio?  Or can you just use any slow rotating machine.

I take it you need a "stabipad" type driveboard or does the pad attch to other types of drive plate?

One other thing, can you use a machine that slightly smaller than the pads?  ie a 16" machine with a 17"pad?  or does the design of the pad require a size match.

These pads seems to cammand a lot of respect from what i have read and give very good results.  I just want to make sure that we buy the right rotary to use them with.

Any help or advice you guys can offer is greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Graeme

Cheers Dave,

Ill try and give him a phone at some point this week.

So nobody has any ideas as to the best weight/cm².  Hmm, maybe it was a bit of a specific question that there is no real answer to.  Ill go do a bit more digging and see what i can find.

Cheers anyways

Hi Graeme

sorry missed your qustion

The ideal speed is 180rpm and the idea weight is btween 35 & 45 kg, machines I would suggest would be chemspec rotary ( chemstractor), numatic standard speed , truvox orbis ( although a little light) Taski. or victor.

Hope this helps I do have some second hand used rotarys for sale if you are interested,

Best regards Nick

Hi Graeme

I have the full solutions super charly pad system.  I have also just got hold of a taski 200 series scrubber.  Intend to get two machines running where possible.

Nick has answered it, basically, and if you can find one, a 17" gear driven scrubber between 160 & 240 rpm then you won't go far wrong.  As far as I understand the drive boards are more or less the same.

Hope this helps
