As it seems the Gardiner poles are very well liked my next pole will have to be either a CLX or SLX 22. Both seem highly respected but can anybody tell me if the SLX, although undoubtedly better than a CLX, is really worth the extra difference in price?

HELL YES, thats not to say that the clx isnt a good pole, but if you have the extra cash, the SLX is far superior.

Yes the slx is brilliant. The 22 is a very good size. The only pole that beats theslx is the xtreme, and agai this is well worth the extra money.

I prefer the clx 18 to be honest as i like the flex in it. i think if i were to get a 27ft pole i'd go with the slx.
At the end of the day id say if you can afford the slx go with that, but the clx would be a good choice if you were limited on funds
