Thieving gets, our washing machine was making a racket last night, so un be known to me my wife called someone out to repair it, he came out, confirmed to her that "yes its broken" and then charged her £40 for the privilege, i was bouncing, what a rip off.

Im gonna go tell my next new customer that "yes your windows are dirty,(not clean them) oh and thats £40 please"

£40 call out charge seems fair enough to me then.

I once forked out £100 for a bloke to tell me there was nothing wrong with my house roof.  I purchased piece of mind.  But he could've told me that there was problems.

Theres actually nothing to washing machines believe it or not,if the circuit board is fubar'd then yeah its a goner. But other things are simple to repair.

You can get reconditioned circuit boards far about £60/70.

However, washing machines are that cheap these days it hardly seems worth repairing them anymore. Best one we've had is a zanussi, worst one a hotpoint!!
