Gloria Sprayer. This yin any gid?
« on: June 10, 2011, 09:48:36 pm »
Alreeeet

I thought i'd treat myself to a new "longer lasting" sprayer and decided to buy this one:

http://www.gardenmachinerydirect.co.uk/gloria_sprayers_410t_shop_4141.htm

Whats the difference between this one and the one thats all steel on the outside? i.e. not painted. The one i the link is also steel.

Search me! All I can assume by comparing on various sites is it is cheaper to manufacture by 'lining' with plastic instead of stainless steel.

Ive had all sorts of sprayers including a gloria.(granted not that one)

The best one Ive had is the hozelock from B&Q. Bought it in an emergency and its still going strong.

Cheers.

Same here apart from new seals and hose.
A long way short of 'triggers broom' bit it's getting there ;D

The £15 sprayers are great. Mine has lasted 1yr so far and used alot!
Good spray pattern too and does the job.

Get the electric one from window cleaners warehouse £140 delivered to the door, lasts full week on single charge, holds 18 litres, adjustable pressure on pump absolutely brilliant, if you want the hand pump i recommend the Tango 5 litre sprayers about £30 from Restoremate.

I bought 2 hudson stainless sprayers from solo sprayers few months ago. 8 litre and 4. Think they were. 75 and 60 quid both with good quality metal lance. Build quality is good. And they are cheap enough personally can't see the point in spending 200 plus on sprayers.

Richard, I bought the IK9 sprayer from solo sprayers about 6 months ago and thats about how long it lasted  :-[ Its the one with the metal wand and upholstery hand sprayer. Think it was about 80 quid.

The thing with any sprayer is making sure you let the pressure off at the end of each job, saves all the stress on the seals etc.
The IK9 are a good sprayer, make sure you keep a spare hose and piston seal on the van.
I got one somewhere must be 10 years old and still in good working order.

Its the hose that goes Mark. At the top end and the bottom. They need to make the hose alot more thougher and maybe even a metal plunger. Then it would  be a great sprayer!
