Mohawk smartstrand carpet
« on: May 25, 2011, 08:29:29 pm »
Saw this in the carpet shop today , check it out on their web site and video. Looks like polyprop saxony but is made from partly renewable resources. Unlike polyprop its very resilient against crushing by furniture. Burn test like polyprop, havnt done float test yet.

Was talking to a carpet shop owner a couple of days ago and he mentioned this.

Apparantly it's pretty "bomb-proof".

I'm sure he mentioned that it was made from re-cycled plastic bottles.

He says it'll be selling as a premium-priced product.

Can't remember what else he said about it apart from the fact that we should expect to come across more and more of it as it looks like a quality product.

One line they do is made of recycled bottles , the other from corn or something. Did you watch the video of the carpet in the zoo?
