When you flush you ro, do you stop it from making pure water so that all the water going in to it is flushing it? Or do you just fully open the waste tap and leave it to produce a trickle of pure water?

I just fully open the waste.  Still leaves a trickle of pure though.  I'm not saying this is right but it is how I do it.

I just open it to full for 10 minutes.

And like Paul said, I think you still get a trickle of pure, but hardly anything even with it on full waste.

Yeah,I open it fully but a small percentage of pure water still comes through,I leave it to flush for about 15 minutes.

I do the same but I let the trickle of pure go into a bucket rather than my tank as the TDS while flushing the RO is not stable or good to be collected as product water, after flushing I adjust the flow to waste ratio and fill my tank.

1000 LT of 002-006ppm in approximately 4-6 hrs, then pump to van as required DI system in van resin lasts for months  :)

This is the correct and the only way to flush an RO membrane. You will always still have a little water produced whilst the membrane is flushing.
