a drink called v in green tins does it for me! got guarana in it which is magic stuff!
Re mouthwash we had an Quartermaster who drank the spirit off the top of brasso cans in the stores, sent him mental, and the brasso was rubbish after he'd been at it!

Wasn't there a video clip of Keith Chegwin at rock bottom sitting at the side of the Thames many years ago?  Someone was interviewing him.
