Using extraction machine as wet vac on tiles
« on: April 28, 2011, 08:43:36 pm »
Hi, I want to use my extraction machine to vac up some water from a tiled floor, I do not have a glide so am not sure how to use the metal wand without making lots of noise. Anybody got any ideas/experience?

Cheers

Don't use your wand you'll scratch the hell out of them. Use a wet vac hard floor wand.

Agree with John!

I bought a used Prochem floor wand from my supplier and it does the trick.

Used mine with a hard floor wand for a couple of years now on a monthly clean of hard flooring I do.
As the others have said can't really do it with your wand, can damage the surface. You should invest in a hard floor wand, I bet you'll need it again at some point in the future.
However I have used the wand off a henry hoover  for vacuuming before in a emergency, not a great fit but it did the job. I think you could use it on a hard floor, if you have one  ;D

unless you'll be doing this often or it's over a very large area i wouldn't waste the money on an official one. buy a henry hard floor head tool (the one to suck up water that they sell with their wet vac) and attach it to the henry poles. if haven't got any this'll cost next to nothing. then use a 1.5" hose end to go over the pole and that it's you've got a cheap wet floor wand :)

you'll need to put it over the black bit which is to the right in the image below and not the end of the curved pole as this is the only bit which is 1.5" and it fits perfectly.

it's this head you'll want.

Hi guys,

Thank you for the suggestions. It is only a one off job and the henry wet pick up tool on a henry hose is ideal.

Thanks again
