Also just to add ,iv just refilled my di and run the water thru it.
It goes in at 160 tds and comes out at 18 tds.
I thought resin would bring it to ooo.
Any ideas?
Resin is Tulsion.

If you have a tds of 160 going into your di then your resin won't last five minutes. What is the tds out of your tap?

What is it coming out of your RO at, BEFORE it goes into your resin?

Ok guys I didnt make myself clear :(
When I use the ro and di its fine as in tds 002,it comes out of the merlin about 016 then after di its 002.
However it is soooooo slow i thought id try di only as an experiment.
It goes in the di (which has brand new resin in) at about 160 but comes out at 018.
Is it possible there is something wrong with the canister?

Petski,

I've a small DI only bottle, and if I run water through it at a fast flow rate, I'll get a higher than zero TDS reading.  But if I slow the flow down and give time for the water to filter through the resin properly, allowing time the resin to work on the water, then I'll get a zero TDS.

I suspect your flow is too fast for the resin?

No problem.  It's nice to answer a question, rather than ask one for a change!  :D

Geee Tosh.

Over the years you have answered far more questions than you have asked with your new van mount. You are still well in 'credit'. As you rightly have said, once you've got to understand your system intimately then you can solve your own problems as they raise their heads - it's a good learning curve.

I remember how 'complicated' the fishing pole conversion seemed to me, until you organised a step by step process which we did. Using those poles was a stepping stone into the carbon fibre world which weaned me off the Unger Teleplus poles which I thought were the most brilliant poles ever.
I for one will be forever grateful for your explanation of things and how you patiently answered all of questions we threw at you - yes in our ignorance we made the project far more complicated than it was.

Although we now use Gardiner poles, the fishing pole I converted is still part of my toolbox and find it great for gutter and fascia cleans as it's so light and rigid.

My wife uses the last section and a half as a light downstair pole.

Thanks for all you have given us over the years.
