« on: April 18, 2011, 02:47:16 pm »
Hi Im looking for a rotary machine and have been wondering is 300 rpm too fast for LM bonnet buffing carpet? I have been considering a numatic nmd 1000 17". I need it mainly for hard floors but it would be nice to have a machine I can LM with too.

Thanks
Rob

150rpm - 175rpm is about what you need. The numatic you quoted is 150rpm.

see restomate for the super value bonneting package on offer.

I use , and have used for several years a 380 RPM machine , no problem .

Every couple of weeks someone comes on here asking about bonnet speeds , and every time people leep sayin you need 150-200 rpm , yes there is ONE sentence in the IICRC manual ,written 22 years ago that recommends the 150-200 rpm speed ,  faster is better!
I clean carpets

Weight is a considerable factor in the equation too.

170-300 is good. For extra cleaning and faster drying, rebuff with a clean dry pad and use fans or air movers.

300 is a good speed.

Why the air mover??? if you do the job right the carpets will be dry in 30 mins without it.............
