Connys inside...hoe do you clean
« on: April 10, 2011, 07:04:52 pm »
Got a conny roof in and out and gutter clear tomorrow. First time Ive done an internal conny clean.

What do you spray the internal frames and perspex with? How would you clean it?

The frames are quite thick with grease from the kitchen-lots of carribean food and a bit of a greasy job!!

Sqeegee as much as possible on the inside, scrim the rest. Do inside first as well if the weather where you are is going to be hot or you will find that as soon as you wet the roof it will dry before you get a chance to clean it.

you are going to end up with a stiff neck, I know I always do.

One thing to be very careful of is dripping onto emulsion walls. If the inside hasn't been done for a while the water will drip off black and stain anything it touches. What can happen is a drip will run down the wall and stain all the way down.

Just one to look out for.
if it is dirty it is fair game

And keep the door open as well. It gets harder to detail if it gets too hot.

some of you lot are scared stiff of doing some hard work.or is it they dont know how to sqeegee a plane of glass upside down :P

sorts the men out from the boys.

as long as you price right these are some great earners.
add all these jobs up at the end of the year and see how much extra you earn.

If it's sunny or very bright out - wear sunglasses. If you don't you'll regret it.

For plastic or UPV, any good hard surface cleaner from a cleaning supplies place will do a much better job than anything from a supermarket.

Job done - most important lesson learned was I well underpriced!!!

Started the roof in and out at 9.45, finished at 12.30

Stonkin hot after about 10. Used a de greaser which was corrosive, but blimmin good.

Oh well, you live and learn!!!

Either under priced or with experience, do the job quicker but for a bit more dosh.

Yup, live and learn, that's the name of the game.
