Hi I normally post on the general cleaning board, but al thinking of buying a WFP, so thought someone might be nice enough to help me.

I'm thinking of buying one of these:

I'm sure there are much better one's on the market, but it generally will just be used when we clean EOT's, as we are often asked to clean external windows.

What I would like to know is, what do I need to connect to the hose at the other end? Obviously I want pure water, so do I need a big tank in the van or car? Or is there something smaller/easier/cheaper? As we will only need to use a few times a month.

Just a point in the direction of what I need to look at, would be much appreciated.

I have that pole, it came with my trolley.
Its very wobbly, being fibreglass also heavy when extended.

I needed a longer pole so bought the brodex hydra aluminium 25ft pole much better, good weight less flex.

As for the connector this will probably have a rectus male hose end.

I assume you're going to have access to a tap? If thats so you only need to buy a (say) 11 litre DI resin  vessel and the appropriate connectors and hose to connect to the pole hose and , also the conectors to be able to connect to the water supply, hozelock do several multi adapters to fit almost any tap. You will also need DI resin. Should find all you need at Daqua.co.uk

Mike, not sure I will always have easy access to a tap, so ideally it would be better to have water with me, this was what I wasn't sure of, but perhaps didn't explain too well.

If no access to taps, what would you recommend? I will also take a look at that website, I've looked at a few, but not much clearer on the transportation of my own water.

You would need a 'backpack' then, available from Window Cleaning Warehouse and other places. You'd still need the di resins and vessel as above to 'make' pure water then fill it ito barrells to top up your back pack.

youll get an 18l backpack from polarbrite £120 plus vat i just bought one and a sack trolley(from pvr direct for £22 i think),you will first of all have to get a tds meter to determine whether you live in a soft or hard water area,if you live in a hard water area a di vessel alone for purifying the water will not be enough you will have to get a reverse osmosis system to purify it.I bought the backpack and 6 20L containers and its my first day out with it tommorrow,so gd luck me. :-)

p.s i also got a CLX pole from gardiners the wfp guys on here rave about it,its a lil pricier than the one your thinking about buying but i think the clx will be worth it in the long run as its a better pole and less strenous to deal with

Good luck.  There's a nack to using a backpack to it's best effect, so stick with it; it's a class bit of kit (though I use a Shurflo).
