mono, flagged & siff brush types

so, whats the difference between mono, flagged and stiff brushes, i know its might be a silly question for some experienceed windys but i cant seem to find the anser very easy!  :-[

yes, flocked... thats what i thought the word was too but the silly woman in my local windy supplies shop is a bit slow and she insisted the word was flagged  ??? ::) very strange considering her husband owns the shop  ;D

If you go on Gardiners website the descriptions of each brush are on there, without me confusing the issue :)

Ive found there are different types of mono

Gardiners mono (white) has hard bristles where the vikan mono (red) has very soft bristles
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go
