How do you set your rounds out on it?

Ive done it in week order, ie week 1, week 2 etc etc

Well over winter i only did a few here and few there and its all over place at mo, im getting frustrated to because ill go and do one round and forget ive missed the odd one there which hasnt shown up as i did it at another time. I need to get it sorted so i am sorting it all out now.

Just wondering how you guys sort yours out?

i have my rounds in areas great sutton, little sutton, whitby, parkgate and neston, willaston, eastham, bromborough and spital have them all on 6 weekly on frequency, i dont do my rounds in any particular order just go at wat i can each day, but sum rounds take 4-5 days others take 2-3 every six weeks tho they change colour on the schedule page and tell you when there due i just have a worksheet (tab at bottom) for each round and when round is due i just add every job from scheduling to the worksheet for that round

One of the reasons i went back to George and also them saying they are no longer updating it.

I done the same in bad weather hand picked one or two here and there and in the end it messes the whole lot up as you forget some jobs. In George i have most of the work on one big round and you can see where everything is even if you hand picked 5 jobs in 5 different areas to do this week all over due jobs sit at the top so just work yourself through every job. I think WCP has got quite crowded to be fair don't know what the hell going on with what Ur clicking half the time

Snap

Exactly the same

Have areas with all work in, and generally i do them all in the same week anyway but i schedule like richy

Also have a tab marked commercial and just drop any due jobs into schedule

I use wcp mainly for accounts though

all my work is in my head too :)

I am right in a mess at mo, stuff everywhere, i sat today and manually re dated them all, some will have to get done a little earlier, and some later. Hopefully will be back on track with it next few weeks.

How do you drop jobs into an existing worksheet?

Sensai (Matt?)

You don't have to manually redate each and every one, in the wall planner page, tick each job that you want to redate, then at the bottom right, there's an option to "Change Due Date" - Click that and set the date for the jobs you have ticked..

PS: I group the rounds in street or area.  But you can add whole rounds or cherry pick jobs and drop them into individual worksheets as you wish.

Don't worry if you get behind and get a load of red late jobs, as when you do them the dates will resync for the next time they are due.

Hope that all makes sense!  :o

This is one reason why I prefer not to use off the peg round organisers.  The software can start to run your round rather than you running it.
It takes a bit more input for the software that I use but I find it simpler for a working system.
I tend to work in areas rather than by strict dates (with a very few exceptions that are worth making).  For the most part, I don't want to be driving around all over the place - especially at current fuel prices.  I tend to run my round as follows:-  Most of it 6 weekly (meaning 6 - 8 weekly) and a bit of it 12 weekly (meaning 12 - 16 weekly) for domestics.  For commercial I do try harder to be more precise with my dates.  However, if I have domestic due in the same area, I will adjust dates a little if it will help reduce travel.  Then I have a couple of batches of domestics that I do at a more rigid interval because it's compact and pays reasonably well - mainly due to its compactness.  Effectively, I treat them a bit like commercial work.

i think some of you make it harder than it really is and over complicate such a simple business!!

i always work my round from A-Z in the same order(mainly 4 weekly)my stand alone 6/8 weeklies and commercial get rejigged to fit in around my regular 4 weekly rounds and are usually done bang on time.the 4 weeklies go to 5 or even 6 weeks during spells of bad weather or holidays.

i use george and find it very simple to use and does everything i need it to for a small sole trader micro business!

i did download the free trial for WCP.but i thought it looked too flashy and overcomplicated and "busy"!plus its more expensive than george.
