prochem vac fault
« on: March 07, 2011, 07:18:20 pm »
hi guys, got to my last job of the day today, switched on the machine and was met with a funny noise and plumes of blue smoke coming out from under my prochem SX2100.

i've just opened it up and found its the front vac thats packed in, is there any reason why i cant fix this myself? it looks simple enough to me, i have a background in electrics etc so wiring seems simple enough so can i just pull the old one out and stick a new one in?

Also i have a quick google and found 2 for sale on a certain auction site, 1 was a genuine lamb motor at £200 and the other seemed to be unbranded at £90. does anyone have any idea what the £90 motor is like? the big difference from the pics is the cheap one has a plastic type top half the lamb one is all metal? the ones in my machine are plastic topped and are branded lamb motors.

thanks in advance

lew

Replace with a 3 stage motor from restormate, been using them years now and imo they are just as good as the genuine ones, its a 10 min job, 3 bolts 2 wires and a hose to attach.
