used fans today
« on: February 03, 2011, 09:30:06 pm »
I got some of those fan jets from gardiners, the 40 deg blues, and i got chance to used them today. I fitted them to a vikan rectangle brush, wow what a brick, just i case i didnt like them and ruin my SL. but it worked well as the bristles are straight so its easier to be more accurate with it, anyway, ive got to say the fan jets are good.

I used them on a golf club that i do. Its all ground floor level windows and i usually do it with an a frame and trad as i cant get my van to most of them, but i decided to make a trolley, and i thought i would give it a go today and use the fan jets in an effort to save water due to using the trolley and not liking the idea of lugging containers too much.

So, it was a first clean, the frames were barn style wooden black windows, so i decided not to touch the frames at all, i was quite economical with water rinsed with the brush on.

I was able to check the results as i clean the insides too, and the results were brilliant
I am really impress how much better the fan jets are, they are very accurate, and rinse much quicker.

So i think i will be fitting them to the SL at the weekend ready for monday.

Thanks for the info. Had fan jets when I first started and hated them. Could have another look now they have improved.

Been using fans for last 2 months or so, the results are very good but I think I'm over doing it on the rinsing, I have the controller on full ,  scrub the window then rinse from side to side with brush on glass, so i am not really that much quicker than when i was using pencils , what technique does anyone else use to save time, cheers Dave.

Ive been messing around with some this morning cause of this post, ive used them in past but didnt get on with them, well after fittin them to my brush i still think theyre cack lol. You need the pump going on full wack to get any sort of nice fan then you are definatly using more water. It is a nice rinse i can give it that but only with pump on full, they ARE messy, i prefer me pencils with pump on half speed  ;D

Each to their own of course.

The brass ones that look like pencils are rubbish, the blue ones from gardiners are the best, the water comes out in a straight line and are very accurate, I have my controller set to 40 and they work fine.
