Finally picking up !!
« on: March 01, 2011, 06:46:06 pm »
My first booked solid week since last November !!
Typically half way through my last job,my pump decided to stop, went and grabbed the spare from the van,and fitted in within half hour, pump didn't actually stop, just lost pressure, new one was doing the same, until I noticed the big kink in the pipe that was more or less stopping it getting any fluid, got a 3 bed house tomorrow, then next door lounge, then a massive 5 bed, agency says it's huge,so looking at around £600 for the day tomorrow, all going to Mr tax man .
Did also manage to snap one of the bolts that holds the front of the tank on my machine, sheared it right off, when it tipped up,while I was swapping pump over, not good

It's been the best it has ever been,I have had over a year of trouble free use, well apart from having to get another joiner on my heat and run, just need to get in and have a poke about in there tonight, have already got a nice big gash on my wrist,so see what other damage I can do to myself, think it's just the input pipe has a big kink in ,when you close the machine it makes it worse, must have been the really big set of concrete steps leading to my last job, must have moved something in there

Just made a massive investment with the van,so the old girl is going to have to last a little bit longer, but yes it's on the horizon, once I get balanced out a bit, need a couple of very good months

Things were ok till yesterday afternoon when a
vac motor went.
It's only 8 month old, what do they make them
with now?

Been caught out with them too many times,so I always carry a spare now, pump and vacs, and as I  have had such a long run without probs, will be getting another one of each, before the end of the tax year, and fitting them,so they are under warranty, then I will keep the others as a back up.
Really annoys me when your on a job and they go,and it's so easy to accidentally suck foam through them,I have learnt me lesson....

A vac motor itself should be easy to change over. Access can be a bit tight depending on your machine. Just note where everything is. Doesnt matter which way the 2 wires are connected but the body of the motor need to be earthed. There may be a earth wire, if not you sort one your self.

Depending on what machine you have ,yeah very,2 wires,3 nuts holding them in,and a pipe on the side.
Just watch you don't rip your hands to shreds, like I always do.
You may also need a new gasket, mine always stick to the motor or where the motor sits, and usually end up ripping it

Good. Off to pick it up now so will see what charge is.
At this rate though will try myself.
8 months is not a long time but then the warranty is only
3 months, the engineer sticks an extra 3 on though.

John
my Scorpion is probably over 6 years old now.
I dont think the previous owner (Spencer Davies) had any problems or need to change motor or pump, but I have put in 2 vac motors and 1 pump, and one of those vac motors failing was my fault.
I think that is pretty good going.

Well the machine has been fine, really notice the difference between, the Flojoe at 160 psi and the 120psi Shureflo, think I might swap them back over at the weekend, now I know it was only a kink in the hose.
Been a really good day today, used to take me 2 weeks working as a head chef to earn what i did today
