Is there anywhere that sells small bits of vacuum hose I can use as a whip hose (2" hose to 1.5" wand) or is it a case of buying 25 ft and cutting it down.

Got a few of these already Paul but they don't sit securely enough on the wand, fine when I'm holding it but because the hose is not very flexible as soon as I try to stand the wand it tends to pop off.

How about fitting a double ended barb into the  1 1/2 hose cuff. then put the barb into the hose cuff of the short 1 1/2"  hose, if that makes sense. Most suppliers will sell whatever length of hose you want.
I know ashby's do. you could glue or silicon barb in cuffs. BTW a L shaped loo down pipe is the right dia if you want to use a cuff joiner

Why use a 1.5" wand on a presumably high airflow system using 2" hose?  You're choking it!

If this is your main wand, well worth getting a full 2" bore wand, you can feel it breathe so much easier.

Aside from that suggestion, I do still use a 1.5" wand now and again.  I did today actually, awkward narrow traffic lanes upstairs in a small house, for which it is perfect.

I use a 5ft length of 1.5" whip hose, it has a normal 1.5" cuff at the front end which accommodates both the 1.5" wand and also the hand tool and stair tools too.  My main 2" hose has a coolcuff on the end.  The "rearwards" end of my whip hose has the coolcuff 2" to 1.5" reducer which simply screws on the the coolcuff at the end of the main 2" hose.

Oh b*gger, this is starting to sound complicated   But it isn't it's really simple, if you want I'll take a photo of it tomorrow.
