clarke cbm240 e pump problems
« on: January 31, 2011, 08:03:10 pm »
my pump kept tripping my trip switch last week. I took it apart to find a fair bit of water inside the electrics end ( the blue end ). There is a fair bit of water corrosion inside too. The seals look ok so I have reassembled and there is now a new leak from just below where the power and emergency lights are. It is not cutting out for now. Has anyone else had these problems and can they be repaired. I was advised by one of my custies today, who is a boat engineer, that when electic pumps start playing up you are better off replacing them. The pump is only 18 months old so I dont want to  have to replace it if I dont have to.
Any advice please guys

I'd spray the water corrosion with wd40. Ask machine mart (i think they are a supplier of clarke products) who is an authorised repair centre and maybe get it looked at?
