i'm getting there at last van pic's
« on: January 27, 2011, 03:38:33 pm »
at last i feel like i am finally getting there :)

I have had a run of really bad luck but I am getting there now it has been very slow dew to lots of different problems.
the worst being that I bought my van and it had no antifreeze in it >:(
the night I bought it I drove it to my mums house as it was late when I picked it up and I had my car at her house.
I went there the next day to collect the van and nothing it would not start. that's when I found out it had no antifreeze it was frozen solid.
I thawed it all out and realized I had big problems.

anyway nearly 2 months later a new engine and a load of money I didn't have i am very near getting out there knocking some doors.

I had a photo shoot done Tuesday and have got some cracking shots for my website/paperwork.
will do another as soon as my van and uniform are sorted

here's a few pic's of my diy set up.
there is only 1 pump but i have the outlet in the port to upgrade also might add a fogwash heater at a later date.
all I need now is my R/O-DI what should be on its way to me right now and a few bits still to do

van sign writing
build some shelving in van
get leisure battery and wire on split charge relay
have uniform made up
paper work leaflets ect
website

Hi Mark,

Van is looking good :)   What size hose is that running around the van and how is it connected to the pump if it's not normal garden size hose?

What's your website address?

Do you have any customers yet?

Andy

Hi Mark, good looking set up, I did notice your signs in the back, I used these and find they blow over in the lightest breeze. You are better off getting some cones.

Matt
Reaching parts traditional window cleaners can not reach.

Hi,

Mark,

I know as much about engines as my wife knows about cooking.  I know  anti freeze prevents the water freezing & bursting pipes & radiator. In my younger days I had a couple of incidents in my old bangers where they would not start due to no antifreeze, but all was well when thawed.

Why so much damage done to yours & what does the second photo of the engine show?

hi Kevin on these tddi engines when trying to start when frozen they slip teeth on the inlet cam putting the timing out and then the pistons hit the valves.
instead of bending valves like on most engines they break the cam carrier.

this can also  happen if you try to bump start these vans too :o

and fords wont sell you that bit they are head matched so new head or replacement engine.
